T-Grip Double Straight Handle Bar with Solid Ends
The American Barbell T-Grip Double Straight Handle Bar provides you with a range of gripping options for all of your barbell pushing and pressing exercises. Featuring a 1-1/4" diameter (31.75MM), it fits all commercial benches and racks and now provides the option of non-rotating sleeves (bar weight 30lbs) or rotating sleeves (bar weight 55lbs).
The sleeve construction is one piece, drop-forged and bolt-less, and has a hard chrome finish. The bar shaft is finished in black powder coating. The ability to use a neutral grip that this bar offers allows you to train with less shoulder stress. It also improves the body's biomechanics to execute the exercises more precisely.
The 'X' design of the bar allows you to perform overhead pressing moves with easy head clearance. The 500 lb max weight on this bar makes it ideal for neutral grip training on such compound moves as the bench press and deadlift.

My 67 year old shoulders are hosed, ruling out overhead presses with a conventional barbell. They were easier with a conventional, rectangular swiss bar, but my chin got in the way unless I tilted my head way back. The t-bar design solves this problem. Fit an finish were excellent on mine. No blems, burrs, or slag sloshing around inside. NOTE: The sleeves are 53 mm in diameter, not 55mm as on a conventional olympic bar. So, olympic collars are too big. Lockjaw makes a 53mm axle collar that fits.
I love this bar. I recently bought it and I have been able to use it for benching, overhead presses, barbell rows, tricep extensions and hammer curls. I highly recommend it because I have had shoulder issues and the bar allows a natural grip.
This bar is fantastic!!! 5 stars it really takes the pressure off the shoulders and elbows. And it forces the triceps and upper back to engage with the lift easier than a straight bar!!
This is functionally, a great bar. Good knurling, good powder coating, good design, shipped extremely quickly, and it was packaged perfectly. However there were a couple things that were disappointing. First, there was some welding slag on the handle next to the knurling that was powder coated over. I had to knock it off with a small screw driver and mallet after cutting my pinky on it. Also, there is slag rolling around inside the bar with no way to come out. I think that’s inherent in axle style bars but it was just disappointing as I have used their multi grip and it didn’t have those issues. Overall I’m happy, and I would buy it again if given the chance. But just for full disclosure I thought I should mention those items.
Has a bit of iron dust inside but very minimal and common on these solid bars. Knurl here is aggressive and great, this bar dominates the wide multigrips offered by others.
