Limited Lifetime Warranty

Olympic Barbells and Power Barbells

American Barbell products, known as barbells for weightlifting and powerlifting, are warranted to be free from manufacturer defects in material and workmanship for the lifetime of these products when used as intended. This limited warranty defines "lifetime" coverage as lasting until the product becomes unusable due to reasons other than workmanship defects, material defects, or design issues. Please note that this limited lifetime warranty applies exclusively to the original customer for the duration of their ownership and is non-transferable. Additionally, it's important to be aware that this limited lifetime warranty does not extend to a bar's finish or coating and claims of bending will be addressed on a case-by-case basis, typically due to potential misuse.

  3. SECURING EQUIPMENT: All equipment must be properly secured to the floor to stabilize and prevent rocking on uneven surfaces or tipping over. This should be carried out by a licensed contractor using the correct anchoring materials. Refer to specific warnings on page 2.
  4. MAINTAIN ALL EQUIPMENT: Preventative maintenance is crucial for the smooth operation of equipment and to minimize liability. Regular inspections of ALL equipment are necessary.

Product Guidelines:

  • Urethane and Rubber Products: Do not clean rubber or urethane products with detergent, acetone, or solvent-based cleaners. Avoid placing or storing these products in direct sunlight or in damp and humid environments, as these conditions can contribute to product deterioration.
  • Dumbbells (all variants, including "beauty bells"): Do not drop dumbbells in an uncontrolled manner from any height exceeding 0.6 meters (24 inches). Regularly inspect dumbbells for signs of damage and ensure that the heads are securely attached to the handles. Please note that damage from dropping is not covered under warranty. Chrome handles should not come into contact with metal surfaces on racks or other handles, as this can damage the chrome finish.
  • Fixed Weight Barbells: Only store fixed-weight barbells on racks approved by American Barbell, ensuring that the racks provide protection for the bars where they contact the rack. All metal catches can damage the bars and are not covered under warranty. Do not use any workout bar that has loose, missing, or broken parts. Contact American Barbell immediately for resolution options.
  • Olympic Weightlifting Plates: Non-bumper plates should never be dropped in any circumstance, as the cast iron inner core may break. This is not covered under warranty.
  • Olympic Weightlifting Barbells: The hard chrome plating used on American Barbell Olympic bars is resistant to chipping and peeling, making it much safer than regular chrome. If you notice visible rust, it must be removed immediately, as rust can impair the structural integrity of the bar. This includes stainless steel bars. Store bars only on approved racks equipped with workout bar protection features. Brush chalk out of the knurl regularly with a stiff stainless steel wire brush, as chalk can trap moisture and accelerate corrosion. For ceramic-coated or black zinc bars, use a stiff nylon brush instead. Do not use any workout bar that has loose, missing, or broken parts. Contact American Barbell immediately for resolution options. "Closeout" Barbells are considered final sales and do not include a warranty.
  • Kettlebells: Kettlebells are not to be dropped under any circumstance, as doing so may cause serious injury and property damage. Additionally, the product warranty does not cover kettlebells that have been dropped or misused.
  • Cable Attachments: Do not use cable attachments if there are any visible signs of wear or missing parts. Refer to the specific warning documents that accompany the product and/or the safety page. For any additional questions or support, please contact American Barbell.
  • Gymnastic Rings & Straps and/or Suspension Training Systems: Gymnastic rings, straps, and suspension training systems come with strict safety warnings for both setup and use. Do not use them if any parts are loose, worn, or missing. Never attempt any exercise where the user is upside down, including any straps where the user is hanging, such as hanging ab straps. See specific warnings and maintenance requirements on the individual sheet enclosed with your order.
  • Rubber Bands, Ropes, Straps, or any other accessories: These items should be inspected daily for signs of wear. Note that functional training ropes are for ground use only and should not be used for hanging or climbing.
  • Proloc Collars: Safety & Product Care: PROLOC collars should never be used to retain weights for overhead liftings, such as 'tricep extensions or 'pullovers.’ Furthermore, PROLOC collars are not designed to hold weight plates in a vertical orientation, where the full weight of the plates bears on the collar only. Never rely on a barbell collar to secure weight above any part of yourself or another person. If a PROLOC collar is thought to be defective, damaged, or not  working properly, it should never be used, as it may lead to injury. A damaged PROLOC collar should be removed from use immediately. If any PROLOC collar fails under warranty, please contact your place of purchase or PROLOC collars via email at PROLOCcollars@aol.com. While PROLOC collars require no special maintenance or care, they should be treated with care. Avoid dropping, throwing, or crushing your PROLOC collars, as rough handling can void the warranty, and shorten their lifespan and compromise user safety.
