Battle rope training provides a combination of cardio, endurance, plyometric, and strength training in one dynamic movement. Depending on the intensity of your battle rope training, you can burn between 300-500 calories in a 30-minute session. At the same time, your training will improve your cardiovascular endurance while also building and strengthening the muscles of your forearms, biceps, triceps, deltoids, lats, quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves.
American Barbell Battle Ropes are constructed from a combination of polypropylene and dacron to provide a tough, functional rope material to work. The rope is covered in a protective sleeve that keeps it from fraying or otherwise deteriorating.
When it comes to choosing the length of your battle rope, keep in mind that you will more than likely be folding the rope in half around an anchor point. So, the length of free space required will be half the length of rope. The most popular battle rope length is 50 feet, with the most universally usable rope width being 1.5 inches in diameter.
